Mission Statement
Catherine McAuley High School is dedicated to preparing young Christian women for
life. McAuley offers a student centered curriculum and enables the students to go
forward into society and contribute positively to her community and her world.
McAuley stimulates them academically, develops good moral character, awakens inner
strength, provides experiences in self awareness and provides social and athletic
experiences.
Location
Catherine McAuley High School is located in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, at
the corner of East 37th Street and Foster Avenue .
History
McAuley was founded in 1942 by the Sisters of Mercy of Brooklyn.

Scholarships & Financial Aid
Through the generosity of the Sisters of Mercy and the McAuley Alumnae, several full
and partial scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, need, and
involvement in extracurricular activities. In addition, a limited amount of
Financial Aid is available. Please call to request a Financial Aid Form.
Faculty & Staff
Total: 32 Twenty-three lay persons, nine Religious. Twenty-three hold
Masters' Degrees, one holds a Doctoral Degree.

College Acceptances
In any year, 90 to 100% of McAuley's graduates are accepted into college.
Students and their families are assisted with the college application process and
advised of financial aid and scholarship information. Recent graduates of McAuley
are attending New York University, City College, Duquesne University, Howard University,
Pratt Institute, Penn State University, Polytechnic University, Syracuse University, and
the various schools of the City and State University Systems of New York.
Student Life
A wide variety of extracurricular activities are available to McAuley students,
including sports, clubs, chorus, religious and volunteer programs

McAuley draws students from all areas of Brooklyn and Queens
Special Programs
College Preparatory; Business courses, English as a Second Language, Transitional
Program for Foreign Students, Conflict Management, Leadership Training to develop peer
counseling skills; Job Placement.

United States Department Of Education - The only all-girls' Catholic high school in
Brooklyn or Queens that is a "Nationally Recognized School of Excellence"
